We offer you a fascinating journey along the Ionian coast of Sicily, covering the reserve almost entirely. We’ll start from the Byzantine complex of "Cittadella dei Maccari", with its numerous catacombs and the Byzantine church of Trigona. Along the marshes, we will arrive at the Swabian Tower and the eighteenth-century Tonnara, to then reach the crystal clear waters of the Calamosche beach. From the paths that lead to the limit of the bogs we will reach the observation towers where we will be able to discover a multitude of birds including the pink flamingos. It’s a true paradise for birdwatchers. Excursion suitable for all the usual walkers. The route is not particularly difficult but requires good resistance to the path due to its length.
